It’s only October, but you can feel the excitement in the air for the upcoming ski season here in Steamboat. We got the first real snow storm of the season last week. It started Wednesday afternoon and really didn’t stop until Sunday! Steamboat Resort reported 14 inches of snow Friday morning at Thunderhead and also started snow making operations Friday afternoon. With only 22 days left until ski season begins it is hard not to get excited about another great season in Steamboat.
And this season is going to be a big one. There is so much going on in town and at the resort. Steamboat is celebrating its 50 year anniversary and the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports club is turning 100! There are festivities planned all winter long by the resort and the town so if you are planning a ski vacation to Steamboat this year, you are in luck. We look forward to all our friends coming out once again to enjoy all that Steamboat has to offer.
At the Fliescher Sports store in One Steamboat Place we have been getting boxes and boxes of NEW ski clothing and gear in. We’re almost running out of room to put all this stuff! We’ve installed an additional boot drier to keep your feet warm this winter and we’ve improved many of our systems that will make renting from us even better than it already is! We’ve been busy mounting all the new skis and snowboards for our rental fleet and adding new snowboard brands as well.
We hope you are getting excited for this ski season in Steamboat too and look forward to seeing all of our friends this season. Here’s to an amazing 2012/2013 Ski season in Steamboat. See you soon!
